The short version
Warmcut is private by default. Your links are unguessable. Contributors never see each other’s clips. We never sell your data. We use your clips for one thing: making your film.
What we collect
From organisers: your name, email, the recipient’s first name and the details you give about the occasion.
From contributors: your name, how you know the recipient (optional), the clip and photo you choose to send, and your email if you give it.
From everyone: basic technical data to keep the service working, and one analytics cookie if you say yes to it.
How we use it
To make and deliver your film, email you about it, take payment, and improve Warmcut. Our software picks and orders moments from the clips. It never writes or changes what anyone said. No synthetic voices or faces are created.
Who sees your film
Only the organiser, until they pay and share the watch link; then the people they share it with. Our team may look at a project to fix a problem or review a report of misuse.
How long we keep it
Clips and films are kept for 12 months after delivery, then deleted. We email the organiser 30 days before. Organisers can delete a project at any time; media is hard-deleted 30 days later. Deleting your account removes every film, clip and photo straight away. A contributor can remove their own clip and photos with their link at any time. That keeps them out of every film made from then on. A film that was already made is one video file: the clips and photos inside it cannot be taken back out, so that film stays as it is until the organiser makes a new version or deletes the project. Rules for films that include children will be set before launch.
Where it lives
Data is stored with Google Cloud. Payments are handled by Stripe. We never see your card number. Emails are sent through Resend.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. We follow the Australian Privacy Principles and aim to meet the GDPR. Write to hello@warmcut.com.
Cookies
One cookie remembers your sign-in. One optional analytics cookie (Google Analytics) helps us learn what helps people start a film. We ask first, and the default is no.
